The Ongoing Threat of Terrorism 22 Years After 9/11

The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan and the Renewed Global Fight Against Terrorism

September 10, 2023 - On the 22nd anniversary of the tragic September 11 attacks, it's essential to acknowledge the ongoing threat of terrorism, which has unfortunately evolved since 2001. Presently, terrorists control a state, and they are rapidly regrouping. This situation was precipitated by the Doha agreement and the chaotic withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. Back in the late '90s, the United Front, led by the late Commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, highlighted the dangers of religious extremism and terrorism, extending beyond Afghanistan's borders, but their warnings went unheeded.

Today, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, led by Commander Ahmad Massoud, has been sounding the alarm for the past two years about the renewed danger emanating from Afghanistan under the Taliban's control. Extremism and terrorism pose global threats, necessitating unified international efforts to combat them. In the past two years, the people of Afghanistan, through the National Resistance Front, have continued the fight that the United States abandoned. This resistance represents a continuation of the global war on terror, but they now find themselves alone in this struggle.

The world bears a moral responsibility to politically support the people of Afghanistan in their battle against terrorism. It's imperative to act swiftly before another catastrophe unfolds, recognizing that their fight is not theirs alone, but a shared global challenge.
